USM sign Kirsty MacColl catalogue

Union Square Music is starting a Kirsty MacColl reissue programme this autumn under ’The One and Only Kirsty MacColl’ theme.

Following a long-term deal with MacColl’s estate, USM will exploit recordings including UK hits Days, Free World and Walking Down Madison, via synchronisation and sub-licensing.

With the late singer’s early Stiff Records recordings and later ZTT album Titanic Days already under USM’s control, the reissue programme will include physical and digital reissues of the Kite, Electric Landlady and Titanic Days albums as well as a debut CD release for the Kirsty’s first LP, Desperate Character. The four albums will hit the streets (on both formats) via Salvo on October 8th.

A charity tribute album recorded at the Shepherds Bush Empire in 2010 featuring performances of Kirsty’s best loved songs by artists including Ellie Goulding, Amy MacDonald, Alison Moyet, Billy Bragg and Catherine Tate, is also set for release.

The campaign will culminate with a TV-advertised Best Of... early next year.
